Huling's first public appearance was at age four. She studied piano with her mother, with Polish concert pianist Krystyna Krystek and with Maria Luisa Faini, protege of Italian composer, Alfredo Casella. She received her performance degrees from the Eastman School of Music and has studied with renowned pianists and singers, including Leonard Shure, Malcolm Bilsson, Paul Badura-Skoda, Frank Glazer, Dalton Baldwin, Gerard Souzay and Greta Kraus.
Performances include solo, chamber and Lieder recitals in North and South America and Europe, including the Purcell Room in London, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall and the Eglise St. Merri in Paris. She has played chamber music with members of the St. Petersburg Chamber Players, London Symphony, Boston Symphony and Vermont Symphony. She has played with the Vermont Symphony, Burlington Civic Symphony and Montpelier Chamber Orchestra. She has been heard live on BBC radio, National Public Radio in Vermont and Boston, and WQXR in New York City. Her recordings include collaboration with Vermont's 'Counterpoint,' music of Los Angeles composer Michael Isaacson, directed by Robert deCormier, and recordings with Michael Appleman, former assistant concertmaster of London Symphony, St. Petersburg Chamber Players and with John McLaughlin Williams, violinist and conductor, as well as Grammy-winning flutist, Karen Kevra in the Kevra/Huling Duo.
In addition to performing, she is a composer and has received commissions and prizes for her music, performed by Montpelier Chamber Orchestra and Montpelier Combined Choirs and includes a National Music Teacher's Association's award. She has written for piano, chorus, orchestra and voice.
A teacher of piano, theory and composition, she recently retired as full professor from one of the Vermont State Colleges. She maintains a small private studio of advanced students in Cabot, Vermont.
